Wine-tasting rooms are temporarily closed, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t get a taste of Napa Valley. Below are just a few businesses in Napa and Sonoma counties that are offering pick-up, deliveries and other ways to satisfy your wine country cravings. NAPA COUNTY
Ad Hoc To-Go, part of the Thomas Keller Restaurant Group, is creating a daily changing, three-course family-style menu offered to-go, ready to reheat and serve ($19.50 per person). Chateau Montelena has put together a “Wine Shelter” package, which includes a copy of Bottle Shock, the feel-good film based on Chateau Montelena’s win at the 1976 Judgment of Paris starring Alan Rickman and Chris Pine, a mix-and-match half or full case (6 or 12 bottles) of Montelena’s current releases and a complimentary wine tasting once tasting rooms reopen. Plumpjack Wines. PlumpJack, CADE and Odette are offering shipments of six bottles of wine for $1 shipping (or free of you’re a member). They will then be scheduling virtual wine tastings with a different estate with the winemaker (Jeff Owens for Odette, Danielle Cyrot for CADE and Aaron Miller for PlumpJack) for people to tune in with their wine in-hand. Press has launched two new curbside pick-up menus featuring its most popular dishes and wines. The Press Combo Meal is $18 for four items. A la carte additions are also available. St. Supéry Estate Vineyards and Winery in Rutherford is holding six weeks of virtual wine tastings every Thursday afternoon. The tastings, hosted by St. Supery winemakers on Zoom and Facebook Live, will be interactive. Start by going on their website to buy the 6-pack home tasting kit that contains the wines to be discussed—promotional pricing and shipping included—along with suggested recipes to pair with each wine, then tune in.
