2. STEP

Known for their innovative women’s footwear designs that merge luxurious style with comfort, Birdies founders Bianca Gates and Marisa Sharkey are stepping it up once again. As Election Day approaches, the VOTE Collection encourages women to vote with the San Francisco-based brand pledging $10,000 to nonprofit Step Up. As well, the passionate business duo is partnering with Minted, another Bay Area company, to support the artisanship of female creators by showcasing their work.

4. SHOP

Creating beautiful and functional interiors for more than 20 years, Resource Furniture is upgrading to an even more spacious showroom this fall. “Despite the recent growth spike in online retail, we believe that overwhelmingly, luxury buyers make their purchasing decisions in person,” says Challie Stillman, vice president of sales and design. Housed in Showplace East in the Design District, the new space will feature vaulted ceilings, exposed trusses and cement floors, all surrounding a spectacular vaulted atrium. Along with the fresh showroom, Resource will boast new products, including the Byron sectional sofa, one of Art Nova’s latest designs
