From pizza to patios, here’s what SF’s food lovers can look forward to this month.
Expect staggering views, great seafood and a new patio at Waterbar.
PICCINO
Fans of the Italian eatery Piccino should get excited. The restaurant’s team opened a new location in the Presidio. “The menu will include all the guest favorites from the Dogpatch location,” says Sean Manchester, a representative for the restaurant. It will be the same hyper-seasonal, vegetable-forward pizza and pasta that fans have come to know and love, with local produce from their Healdsburg farm and specialty items like wagyu beef from Skywalker Ranch. 1 Letterman Drive, piccino.com

JULES PIZZA
Pizza pop-up Jules is now operating in the Lower Haight. Named for chef and owner Max Blachman-Gentile’s grandmother, Jules offers a unique style of pizza built upon Blachman-Gentile’s New York training and love of California’s seasonal produce. Alongside the pizza, he will serve vegetables, salads and seafood dishes. The chef hopes to create an atmosphere that locals return to weekly. “I want our space to feel like you’re going out to a pizza party,” he says. “It’s fun, casual, but well-executed. Everything will taste great and there will be good service, but it’s not going to feel stuffy.” 237 Fillmore St., julespizza.co

WATERBAR
The best place to enjoy oysters on the Embarcadero— Waterbar—is debuting a gorgeous new patio. “We’re so excited to have the ability to offer year-round seating on our beautiful and amazing patio,” says Rich Troiani, the seafood spot’s general manager. The team can better handle shade and heating as the space is weatherproof. Diners will revel in the shimmering Bay views while devouring dishes like shellfish bisque and lobster risotto at this classic SF eatery celebrating its 17th year. 399 The Embarcadero, 415.284.9922, waterbarsf.com

UNDER-STUDY
Under-Study is a new culinary experience in wine country: equal parts cafe, modern patisserie, butchery and seafood grocer, wine shop and teaching kitchen. “After years of seeing an empty storefront next door to Press, we’re extremely excited to provide a creative space for the community to gather,” explains chef Philip Tessier. “All to share diverse and high-quality offerings with our guests.” Expect viennoiserie, cured meats and delicious bites like lobster caviar corndogs. 607 St. Helena Highway, St. Helena, under-study.com
