San Francisco sure knows how to show its pride. Here are a few LGBTQ-owned eateries to enjoy on a day out.
Starbelly is a favorite lunch and dinner venue.
GENTLEMAN FARMER
Gentleman Farmer is the only gay-owned boutique winery in Napa Valley, and the couple behind it, Joey Wolosz and Jeff Durham are having a banner year. During June, a portion of their Almanac cabernet sauvignon sales will be donated to the It Gets Better Project, which aims to uplift and empower LGBTQ youth. Then this fall, the duo will open their new bungalow to host their famous wine-centric lunches. 1564 1st St., Napa, 707.948.6107, gentlemanfarmerwines.com
TRADE ROUTES
There are good vibes aplenty at this Polk Street neighborhood bar. Owners and husbands Chen-Chen Huo and Ryan McCargar, along with partner Jay Roo, are huge supporters of Pride and are planning fun events for summer, from live music shows to Wednesday happy hours. 1750 Polk St., 415.319.8880, traderoutesbar.com
CANELA BISTRO & WINE
Everyone is always welcome at Canela Bistro & Wine Bar. In this Spanish restaurant, everything is celebrated, from the Aid’s Foundation’s Dining Out for Life to National Gin and Tonic Day. Chef-owner Mat Schuster supports the community and serves spectacular tapas that make patrons feel like they could be in Seville. 2272 Market St., 415.552.3000, canelasf.com

HUMPHRY SLOCOMBE
Every good SF foodie has tried—and probably loved—Secret Breakfast, the iconic flavor created by ice cream pioneer Humphry Slocombe. Jake Godby and Sean Vahey are behind the outstanding and original flavors that have championed the LGBTQ community since day one. One Ferry Building, Ste. 8, 415.362.6571, humphryslocombe.com
HI TOPS
From Tuesday night trivia to a Thursday night dance party called Gym Class, Hi Tops is the quintessential Castro sports bar that never disappoints. 2247 Market St., 415.551.2500, hitopsbar.com/hi-tops-sf
STARBELLY
With its spacious back patio, Starbelly is a favorite outdoor brunch or dinner spot. The Castro district restaurant launched a happy hour where diners can enjoy housemade chicken liver pate with vodka, turmeric, and ginger cocktails. 3583 16th St., 415.252.7500, starbellysf.com
