Best of San Francisco 2019

| July 29, 2019 | Parties Story Party

This year was the 19th anniversary of San Francisco Magazine’s "Best Of" party—the City’s most coveted event of the year. Every year, San Francisco magazine reveals the area’s best dining, shopping, destinations, celebrities, and entertainment in the Best of San Francisco Magazine July issue. The party brings together 1,200 affluent partygoers in a hip interactive showcase of premier restaurant tastings, open bars, live entertainment, exploratory lounges, and dancing while supporting one of the City’s most respected nonprofit organizations—Meals on Wheels San Francisco. Over five hundred VIP guests got the party started an hour early at SVN West and toasted the evening with a variety of acclaimed bubbles from Muscardini and Gloria Ferrer, unique scotch tastings from The Macallan, exclusive bites from Farallon and Alexander's Steakhouse, an oyster bar from legacy restaurant Waterbar, and luxurious lounges provided by the San Francisco Symphony and Ona.Life. The VIP Area also included a special activation from Celebrity Cruises including bites from One Market and a tasty specialty cocktail created with Brugal Rum. An aerialist and sway pole dancer provided exclusive performances throughout the evening that wowed guests all night.

The main event doors opened at 7pm, when an elated crowd was greeted with music from The Party Starters live band and a sumptuous array of food from over a dozen of the Bay Area’s best restaurants (including the magazine’s Hall of Fame and 2019 winners). Adam Champman of Gibson created four handcrafted cocktails, signature cocktails were provided by Lillet, Illy Caffe, Basil Hayden and Junipero Gin, beers from Peroni, Pilsner Urquell and Saint Archer, and a vast array of wines from Sonoma Valley Vintners and Peju and Calemere Wines. Zico Coconut Water and Topo Chico provided refreshing non-alcoholic beverages. The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic extolled the pleasures of visiting Punta Cana with an outdoor lounge. Inifiniti provided a photo station and left our guests left smiling with many social media postings from a truly special night.

An exclusive performance was given by Beach Blanket Babylon (our cover stars in July) to honor their 45 year legendary musical run in San Francisco. Guests were also given an exclusive sneak peak at the brand new Chase Center and home to the Warriors, creating buzz for the grand opening in September.
