Wharf Fest 2013

What: The fall festival at Fisherman's Wharf! Come for live music, fireworks, harvest-themed craft beer and local food.
Where: Fisherman's Warf from Ghirardelli Square to Pier 39.
When: Saturday, October 26th from 11 AM to 6 PM.
Cost: Free!
Why: Because sometimes it's fun to embrace the tourist-y aspects of a city. Also: delicious, fresh seafood and a clam chowder competition. Plus, we'll be there too!

Thrill the World Bay Area

What: A flashmob attempt to break the world record for the number of dancers doing the "Thriller" choreography in one place; a reason to dress like a zombie and dance in the street; an homage to MJ.
Where: Studio One Art Center in Oakland (365 45th Street)
When: Dancing starts at 2 PM sharp on Saturday, October 26th. Arrive an hour early to be counted for the world record.
Cost: Technically free, with a $10 suggested donation.
Why: Because "Thiller" remains arguably the best pop culture choreography.

Mission Soul Sundays

What: Weekly brunch / dance party.
Where: The Chapel. 777 Valencia Street.
When: 11 AM to 3 PM every Sunday.
Cost: As much or as little as you want—it's brunch!
Why: Everyone knows the best way to cure a hangover is with another drink. Besides, there is delicious food and great music.

SF Open Studios 2013

What: The oldest and largest open studio program in the country.
Where: There are several galleries participating around the city.
When: Each Saturday and Sunday, from now until November 10th. Studios are open from 11 AM to 6 PM.
Cost: Free!
Why: To see what Bay Area artists are producing.
