What: San Francisco’s “premier modernism fair,” presented by the SFMOMA, showcasing the best of 20th-century and contemporary design in innovative layout specifically designed for each exhibitor.
Where: Fort Mason Festival Pavilion
When: Friday January 17th and Saturday January 18th from 11 AM–7 PM, and Sunday January 19th from 11 AM–5 PM
Cost: $15 per person online; $20 per person at the door
Why: It's the city’s annual Willy-Wonka wonderland of interior design.

Holy Crime
What: A rock 'n' roll mashup of early Sam Shepard plays with live music, presented by Campo Santo and the A.C.T.’s Costume Shop.
Where: The Costume Shop, 1117 Market Street
When: January 17th, 18th, and 19th at 8 PM
Cost: Tickets are $25.
Why: Rock AND Sam Shepard. Need we say more?

The Day of the Locust Dramatic Reading
What: A dramatic reading sponsored by Arion Press celebrating their recent fine art edition of Nathaniel West’s classical novel The Day of the Locust with noir photographs by celebrated photographer Lucy Gray.
Where: Mechanics’ Institute, 57 Post Street
When: Wednesday January 22nd at 6 PM (Technically, not this weekend, but you should buy your tickets now)
Cost: $20
Why: When one of the country’s best fine-print press team up with one of the country's best photographers amazing things start to happen.

Edward Gant’s Amazing Feats of Loneliness
What: A weird yet wonderful Victorian vaudeville show produced by Berkeley’s Shotgun Players.
Where: The Ashby Stage, 1901 Ashby Avenue, Berkeley, CA
When: Friday January 17th and Saturday January 18th at 8 PM, and Sunday January 19th at 2 PM
Cost: Tickets range from $30-$35
Why: It’s your last chance to catch one of the most critically acclaimed show of the Bay Area’s 2013 theater season, which has been extended for three final shows this weekend.
