Why: Come to witness the immense talent, stay for one of the many workshops.
Sonny and the Sunsets w/Warm Soda and Shannon & the Clams
What: Garage-rock concert
Where: The Chapel, 777 Valencia
When: August 31, 9 p.m.
Cost: $17
Why: Because The Chapel has become the best concert venue in the city—great design, excellent acoustics, solid booking—after less than a year of existence.
RetroBurn
What: An oldies dance party for everyone not at Burning Man
Where: Monarch, 101 6th Street
When: August 30, 9 p.m.-3 a.m.
Cost: $8
Why: Because there's gonna be ten DJs, which means something for everyone.
Shakespeare in the Park
What: A performance of Macbeth in the park
Where: Presidio — Main Post Parade Ground Lawn
When: August 31 and September 1, 2 p.m.
Cost: Free
Why: Because this will be the most relaxing entertainment you'll experience all weekend.
2013 Millbrae Art and Wine Festival
What: Downtown Millbrae gets turn into a "mardi-gras" style party with loads of wine, art, and music.
Where: Downtown Millbrae
When: August 31 and September 1, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Cost: Free
Why: Because when the bridge is closed, why not take BART to its red-line terminus?
