For alfresco fiends: Off the Grid test-drives its newest stunt, Twilight at the Presidio (rendered above), on Wednesday evenings this month. Tents appointed with lanterns and blankets sit beside a few food trucks. A dinner host and servers are there to create the “ultimate date night.”

For hungry high rollers: Wylie Dufresne headlines the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America traveling food festival at the St. Regis on October 4. Award honorees, including Danny Bowien (Mission Chinese Food) and Sarah and Evan Rich (Rich Table), will cook an eight-course, MC’ed benefit dinner. Purchase tickets here.

For food nerds: San Francisco’s Sara Deseran moderates a panel about the evolution of California cuisine on October 2. Chefs from Bar Tartine, Outerlands, and Rich Table will be there to discuss farm-to-table, molecular cooking, and everything in between.
