According to Pandora, Giants Fans Listen to K-Pop and Royals Fans to '80s R&B

Scott Lucas | October 20, 2014 | Lifestyle Story City Life

Pandora has run the numbers on which stations fans of the Giants and Royals are listening to in advance of the World Series. And, would it shock you to discover that San Francisco has better musical taste than Kansas City does?

Well, we certainly have a wider range of musical interests. Pandora slipped us the numbers on which stations are most listened to by which city. Here they are:

San Francisco Pandora Stations:
Buddha Bar
Deep House
Hipster Cocktail Party
Dinner Party
Hip Hop BBQ

Kansas City Pandora Stations:
Slow Jams
Today's R&B and Old School
Contemporary Gospel
R&B 2014
'90s R&B
'70s Funk
R&B Love Songs
'80s R&B

Come on Kansas City, we don't mean to say you have narrow tastes in music. But do you all really need to be listening to Today's R&B and Old School, R&B/Soul, R&B 2014, '70s R&B and '80s R&B?? (Side question: What, pray tell, is "Today's Old School"? And how does Today's R&B differ from R&B 2014?) How many times do you really need to listen to Don't Tell 'Em? Could we help expand your mind with some world beats? There's so much more to K-Pop that Gangam Style, after all. Why not try some Hawaiian music? Brazilian, even. Expand your boundaries.

What's that? Oh, yeah, Hipster Cocktail Party is on our list. Um, yeah. About that. We don't know how Hipster Cocktail Party got on that list. We certainly weren't listening to it. We would never listen to that. You know what? Our laptop must have gotten hacked. Yeah, that's it. Tell you what—you don't mention Hipster Cocktail Party and we won't mention your monotonous taste.
