Beginning her eponymous label in 2010 alongside her best friend-turned-business partner, Sarah Adelson, Sally LaPointe has achieved luxury designer status in a flooded contemporary market of American apparel. The label’s aesthetic mirrors the designer: undeniably beautiful and enigmatically laden with curious complexities provoking a lasting look. To further champion her values, she produces her line predominantly in the United States.
With a staggering stock list of more than 900 stores worldwide, Rebecca Minkoff has been outfitting women since 2005. Engaging, sweet-natured and down-to-earth are only a few of the inspiring attributes the designer possesses. Her collective essence goes beyond the design studio and clothing racks, creating a community of empowered (and well-dressed) women.
Alice + Olivia
Stacey Bendet has poured her outwardly eccentric style into her brand, Alice + Olivia, since its creation in 2002. She burst onto the scene with upholstered pants, and her playful designs have become the cornerstone for fun fashion. The collection is as colorful and confident as the designer, the heroine of party dressing.
Israeli-born Nili Lotan achieved the American dream creating a collection in her apartment as a single mom and making sure it found its way to the esteemed floor of Barneys New York. She emanates warmth and elegance—much like the clothes she crafts. With its classic silhouettes in rich fabrics, her collection is clearly meant to be worn as elevated, everyday womenswear. Social awareness is focal to the brand’s DNA, which draws from the designer’s personal experiences.
A simple stripe has banded three entrepreneurial women together to create a line devoted to, well, lines. Together, the La Ligne founders—CEO Molly Howard, Creative Director Valerie Macaulay and Chief Brand Officer Meredith Melling—have built a flourishing business based on their collective belief that style is extremely personal.
