We're looking for highly motivated interns to help produce our award–winning monthly city/regional magazine. Primary duties are fact-checking, research, and pitching story ideas. Interns have opportunities for writing and taking on more responsibilities, depending on experience. We cover a wide range of subjects—politics, food, style, arts, news, trends, travel--and interns are exposed to a wide range of journalism.
Interns also get a first-hand look at magazine production through participation in editorial meetings, working with reporters and editors, and helping report service features on local business, arts, and nightlife. Interns also have the opportunity to blog weekly for the magazine's website and assist in developing strategy for online content management. Interns also may have the opportunity to assist at fashion photo shoots.
Qualifications: Attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and dedication to journalism are musts. Writing and/or editing experience required. Interns should have solid reporting and research skills and be able to handle multiple deadlines at once. Journalism degree preferred but not required. Interns are typically rising college seniors or older.
Duration: 4 months
