Just as anticipated, San Francisco's 52nd Pride was a lengthy three-day extravaganza of joyous parties, rallies, and commemorations, all culminating with the massive and long-awaited parade Sunday morning.
This year marked the initiation of the historic parade again after a long two-year absence, and it returned just as, if not even more, grand and immense than people hoped. As tourists flocked into the city from not only nationwide, but all around the globe for this famous occasion, this joyous weekend and parade signified a positive boost to both San Francisco tourism and community solidarity following the other recently spectacular Warrior's championship celebration.
The entirety of the city's main artery, Market Street, from the Ferry Building to City Hall was jam-packed with these locals and visitors of all ages who wanted to be a part of this monumental revitalization, decorating the nearly two mile stretch with reverberating music, lively hotel parties, and plenty of just heartwarming smiles.
From glammed-up corgis to ethereal stilt walkers and shimmery Carnaval dancers, there were no shortages of gorgeous glitter and rainbow both marching down and in the crowds, all coruscating under the radiant summer sun.
The Saturday night preceding the parade shone a four-mile long rainbow light display to highlight the magnitude of Pride and the large event to come.
Take a look at these incredibly vibrant and creative outfits spotted at the parade that embodied not only the jubilation and liberation this historic celebration exudes, but also the perseverance, strength, and progress that the underscored the intersection of our current events and this year's Pride theme of "Love Will Keep Us Together."
