Brett Emerson of Contigo's Places to Eat in Noe Valley

Sara Deseran | March 11, 2014 | Story Restaurants

The expert: Brett Emerson, chef-owner of Contigo

The picks: “For the longest time, I didn’t go into Chocolate Covered. It’s not the most inviting space. But it turns out that they have a huge selection of really nice chocolate bars. I particularly like a sea salt chocolate bar that’s made in Brooklyn by Fine & Raw. I always get that.”

El Buen Comer is a stand at the Saturday Noe Valley Farmers’ Market. We get their chilaquiles, and I especially like their pozole. They give it to you with a real bowl and spoon that you have to return.”

Firefly is always so friendly and pleasant. It’s been an anchor of the neighborhood forever. I get the fried chicken when it’s on the menu because it’s awesome. And Elan, my wife, likes the salads and the vegan options.”
