La Palma

Bringing It Home

Sara Deseran | January 16, 2014 | Food & Drink Story Eat and Drink

Located on a corner of 24th Street in the thick of the Mission, the mexicatessen and tortilleria La Palma has long been the go-to for people looking for excellent, freshly made tortillas of all shapes and sizes. However, if you’re throwing a party, La Palma’s pachanga trays are all you need.

You can choose from a variety of selections, but our favorite is menu E. For $299, you get chicken in mole, enchiladas, carnitas, guacamole, those awesome tortillas, and much more. It serves 25 people, which means that you and your friends can each feast for less than the cost of a gourmet sandwich. To gild the lily, add an order or two of chicharrones. Your only job is to put the cans of Tecate on ice and look presentable.
