Carmel-Based Tony Singer Talks His Vintage Car Art Philosophy

Carmel's Tony Singer offers original vintage car art for serious collectors.
Original art posters from Europe, between 1895 and the 1970s, grace the Vintage Auto Posters’ collection.
Collectors of rare, one-of-a-kind posters will admire Tony Singer’s philosophy about his Carmel-based business, Vintage Auto Posters (vintageautoposters.com). “I thrive on differentiation. I don’t want to be like everybody else. The posters I have are for serious collectors, and 99% of what I have is guaranteed original,” says Singer, whose works date from 1895 to the 1970s. Most of the art features storied European brands like Ferrari, Porsche and Mercedes. “Art should be something you love,” he says. “One has to feel some connection; it should be there—on a wall or displayed—because it works for you.” Singer isn’t merely a purveyor of art that showcases those gorgeous metal curves; he also owns a 1963 Porsche 356 and oversees the annual Automobilia Monterey (automobiliamonterey.com). The August event showcases 30 vendors in auto collectibles, from art and books to photos and posters.
