As a fantastic part of his glorious tour for his new cookbook "The Cook You Want to Be," highly renowned chef Andy Baraghani made his rounds to multiple Bay Area bookstores over the sunny last weekend of May and beginning of June.
This whirlwind Bay Area tour began with a book signing and cooking demo at the Ferry Building's cute Book Passage on May 28th, followed by a conversation with Ealeanor Park at Books Inc. in Palo Alto on Tuesday May 31st, an offsite book signing with Omnivore Books at Tofino June 1st, and lastly a gathering at his former pivotal stomping ground of Chez Panisse in Berkeley on June 2nd.

These incredible visits full of intimate demos, dialogues, and signings promotes the release of Baraghani's new cookbook, "The Cook You Want to Be," which is a fully comprehensive culinary guide for any level of home chef.
Integrating his Iranian roots, Baraghani made sure to highlight his culture's classic flavors and influences, as well as addressing his impressionable experiences of working and growing up in the Bay Area.
"I don’t take it for granted that I grew up in the East Bay, which is concentrated with people who have a deep love for food," Baraghani proudly reflects in an excerpt from his stellar new publication.
Baraghani elucidates in great detail his impactful confluence of the culture of the Bay meeting with his Iranian heritage and upbringing all to lead him to his humble beginnings at Berkeley's Chez Panisse at age 15.
His professional trainings from here to later New York's premiere restaurant Estela then led him to become a prominent food writer and test cook at Saveur and Tasting Table before eventually joining Bon Appétit where he would powerfully thrive for six years developing innovatively ingenious dishes.
These meals Andy would master always stayed true to his culture and family, modernizing and sophisticating classic Iranian fare while still preserving their history, traditions, and flavors.
Such inventive recipes include his Caramelized Sweet Potatoes with Browned Butter Harissa, and his Tangy Pomegranate-Chicken, which are both featured in his New York Times Bestseller.
Highly lauded as "one of the most anticipated cookbooks of 2022" by Time, Delish, and more, "The Cook You Want to Be" has stimulated Andy's devoted local fans flocking to all of his tour stops to praise him and inquire on his creative thinking and inspirational life path.
While Andy currently resides with his partner in New York, but he plans to return to his West Coast home in August on the 10th at Anchovy Pop Up Bar, and on the 13th at Scribe Winery Residency. Tickets for these events are still to be announced.
