It’s a brand new year. How do you feel? Ugg and Cher want to know.
The iconic singer, actress and humanitarian stars in the latest edition of the comfy footwear company’s “Feel” campaign, which celebrates national heroes who inspire and work for positive change within our world.
“How you ‘Feel’ is the most authentic part of you as a human being,” Cher is quoted in a press release. “I chose to be an artist, but the hard part is succeeding and failing in front of the entire world.”

At 75 years of age, Cher has won two Oscars, an Emmy and a Grammy with tons more nominations, but it’s not her musical or on-screen wins that have made her a pop-cultural icon for more than 50 years. Her poise, sense of humor, skill, professionalism, fashionable edge, activism, political voice and kindness are what make her timeless.
She’s a mononymous star the likes of which only comes around every few decades, and yet, as she tweets about taking pictures of happy couples outside of movie theaters, she feels somehow relatable.
“Being an icon is about having the freedom and courage to explore your own journey and individuality,” says Lindsey Dicola Dashoff, Ugg’s Senior Director of Brand Communications and Public Relations. “Cher is globally renowned for the bold and unapologetic way she lives her life, something UGG has always related to.”
Filmed by LA photographer Neil Favila and directed by Kauai Moliterno and Michael Barth, Cher features in a series of images and a short video clip, the latter of which opens with the star having a warm phone conversation with her mother, talking about how she’s always wanted to be in movies.
“I’ve spent a lifetime of people either hating me or loving me,” Cher says in the clip, “and I mean, you want to be loved, but finally it’s like ‘f*ck it.’”
It’s a portrait of a human as much as it is a superstar modeling Ugg footwear. Speaking of which, Cher rocks the brand’s Classic Mini boot and Coquette slipper.
Author André Leon Talley, supermodel Iman, NYC nightlife and inclusivity hero Susanne Bartsch, and NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar have all previously featured in the Feel campaign.
