A Sonoma home benefits from the depth of Color Atelier’s wheel of hues.
Want to change a room quickly? Add color to the walls. But this move will only take homeowners so far. Texture and depth, provided by fabrics, furniture and art, also add to the allure and livability of spaces. I recently chatted with Burcu Garnier, co-founder of SF- and Brooklyn-based Color Atelier (coloratelierpaint.com), about how the brand’s paints can add character to rooms, especially as they were used in the Sonoma home featured here.
For this Sonoma project, Color Atelier’s Limewash was added to all of the walls to provide depth.
What sets your products apart? Our products are designed to enhance any room with unique aesthetic qualities, offering finishes that bring depth and warmth to your spaces. What sets us apart is our commitment to sustainability, with all our finishes made from natural materials like lime, clay and mineral pigments, ensuring beautiful results and a healthier living environment.
Please tell me about your Limewash? It’s made from natural ingredients such as lime, clay, marble powder, sand and mineral pigments, crafted just 20 miles from our San Francisco showroom. We recently expanded to a new location in Brooklyn, enhancing our local supply chain and minimizing environmental impact from production to application.
Limewash, an ancient paint used for centuries, is making a comeback because of its breathable, healthy and eco-friendly properties. It boasts a softly textured appearance and tonal variations.
Limewash provides texture and a natural hue to the kitchen walls of this Somoma home.
What were the clients’ color goals for this Sonoma project? They aimed for a seamless flow of natural texture and depth throughout the space. Our Lime Plaster was applied to the walls and ceilings, achieving their vision with its organic, refined finish that enhances the home’s serene and sophisticated aesthetic.
How do you help designers and homeowners select the perfect room colors? We assist through personalized color and finish consultations. Our team offers custom color creations to ensure that each space reflects the desired ambiance and style, tailored to our clients’ unique preferences.
What’s next for Color Atelier? We’re introducing a capsule Limewash collection in collaboration with an AD100 interior designer and forging partnerships with some of NYC’s most esteemed design and art galleries.
