The Chase Center is no stranger to historic moments and esteemed celebrity visits, having Simu Liu, Andrea Bocelli, and Adam Sandler all graced the venue just recently. Two more notoriously iconic figures were also spotted this last Saturday, brilliantly illuminating the courtside during an otherwise overcast and rainy December weekend.
As the Golden State Warriors formidably faced the Boston Celtics in an exhilaratingly triumphant match, many in the audience were also tuned into two familiar faces in comedy enthusiastically watching from the sidelines. These two comic legends were none other than Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle, seen in casual attire having a convivial blast before their comedy show as the game raged on before them.

Dave and Chris, both with East Coast origins, watched keenly with enthralled fervor as the Boston Celtics tried to keep up with the Warriors during their rematch, eventually ending with a final score of 107 to 123, Klay Thompson contributing 34 points and Steph Curry 32 with six 3-pointers.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr proudly reflected on his team’s persevering win with, ''we gutted it out,'' with Klay Thompson adding they had, "a great performance and we did that tonight."

Another memorable event of the dazzling evening came with in pregame ceremony where the Warriors respectfully retired late Hall of Famer Bill Russell’s No. 6 storied jersey. With formative roots from the University of San Francisco, Russell went on to have an absolutely honorable and impressive basketball, Olympic, and active social justice career.
Sporting the number six in all 13 of his magnificent seasons with the Boston Celtics from 1956-1969, Russell continued to have a remarkably vibrant life before passing away on July 31, 2022 at the age of 88, leaving an inimitable MVP legacy now forever preserved high above in the Chase Center, in San Francisco, and overall nationwide.
