Painting: The William S. Paley Collection: A Taste for Modernism
CBS cofounder William S. Paley was a patron of the arts who built up a significant collection of late-19th century to mid-20th century modernist paintings, drawings and sculptures. Now on display: major works from his impressive and broad collection including Picasso’s Box Leading a Horse (1905-1906), Degas’ Two Dancers (1905), and Matisse’s Odalisque with a Tambourine (1925-26).

Ken and Melanie Light: Valley of Shadows and Dreams
The Lights depict scenes from California’s Central Valley and the experiences, hardships and realities of people living in those marginalized agricultural communities. The show, which consists of Ken Light’s 31 beautifully rendered black and white photos and Melanie Light’s insightful essays, made its museum debut in late July, the first in the museum’s new series of California photography.
