Facebook CEO and Silicon Valley billionaire Mark Zuckerberg has recently sold his large San Francisco home in the Mission District for $31 million, a sale solidified by both a city deed and his Chan Zuckerberg Initiative earlier this July.
Originally purchased 10 years ago for around $10 million, the tripling of this initial price, as well as the conducted off-market sale indicates San Francisco's biggest residential deal of this year, as well as the current trajectory of both Zuckerberg and the city's rising housing market.

Prior to this Liberty Hill deal, the most expensive real estate sale for the city earlier this year was from two penthouse condos formerly owned by George and Charlotte Shultz, the former Secretary of State, and former San Francisco Chief of Protocol, respectively. According to The Real Deal, Zuckerberg's property "narrowly beat out" the Schultzs' remarkable $29 million condo deal, the largest ever in San Francisco's history.
Compared to the Shultz residences' condos, Zuckerberg's former abode boasts a spaciously different layout and community. Although the tech mogul's former stomping grounds of Dolores Park is conveniently nearby, this 21st Street property may be elusive to track down, tucked away in both the idyllic neighborhood and online.
The lush residence happens to be blurred for privacy on the Street View of Google Maps for privacy, though previous listing information denotes that the property sprawls out to 7,200-square-feet, hosts four bedrooms, and was once purchased by Delaware LLC.
This recent and anonymous sale was conducted by SFRP LLC, which has ties to another Zuckerberg home down in Palo Alto. The SF home buyer has also established a "shell LLC" for this transaction, which The Real Deal elucidates, "is based in Delaware."
Aside from Palo Alto, look out for the Silicon Valley pioneer's other nationwide mansions, such as two $59 million sister lodges cozily situated in Lake Tahoe, and a tremendous estate in Hawaii's Kauai island purchased in 2016.
