The Sandbox, a leading virtual gaming world, has partnered with World of Women (WoW), a first-of-its-kind, culture-shaping NFT community celebrating representation, inclusivity, and equal opportunities for all.
The forward-thinking businesses are launching the WoW foundation, to bring more women and diversity of thought into the NFT and metaverse space.
The Foundation will kick off with a $25M grant from The Sandbox with a mission to amplify the representation of women in decentralized web spaces, the release discloses.
“This partnership signals our intent to invest long term in shaping a diverse and inclusive space for women to thrive in Web3 within our metaverse. Through facilitating the education and funding of women’s projects we hope these programs help establish a generation of influential women builders in the space,” added Sebastien Borget, Co-Founder & COO of The Sandbox.
Celebrities including Reese Witherspoon, Eva Longoria, Shonda Rhimes, Gary Vaynerchuk (aka Gary Vee), and more, recently jumped into the NFTs craze with WoW NFTs and supporting women's diversity initiative in the web3 space. The NFT project's women-inclusivity mission has drawn interest from many NFT collectors and investors who credit the project with being one of the first in this area.

“World of Women and The Sandbox will work together to achieve its mission of enhancing the open metaverse and encouraging more female participation through a series of interactive offerings.
These offerings will occur through the WoW Foundation, and will focus on 4 main pillars: uplifting the ecosystem by supporting artists and funding projects; educating newcomers; communicating to give more visibility to women-centric causes, while inspiring others; and giving back to charities.
The fund will also provide business development opportunities across the growing networks of The Sandbox, Animoca Brands, and Brinc. The Sandbox plans to support creators and guide them through success in Web3, from mentoring to funding their first mint to exhibitions in the metaverse and their first sale,” according to the release.
“We are thrilled to be teaming up with The Sandbox. With this grant, we are going to establish our mission in the metaverse, by leading and supporting women in this new space. We will start by voxelizing all 10,000 WoW so that our entire community can join us there. Then, we'll achieve our mission through numerous actions; such as the opening of the WoW Museum, which will be a symbol of representation and diversity in the metaverse. We have great projects ahead, and are looking forward to achieving them with our community in The Sandbox.” said Yam Karkai, Co-founder & Artist of World of Women.
“While the WoW Foundation focuses on different sub-sectors within the blockchain world, the funds initiative all carry the same objective to further invest in the women in the space, building long-term and equitable growth and opportunities in the industry,” the release states.
