The Pizza Underground.
Macaulay Culkin, the former child star of Home Alone (and The Pagemaster!) is bringing his pizza-themed Velvet Undergound cover band to San Francisco's Neck of the Woods in March.
We'll wait here while you try to wrap your head around that sentence. Let us know when you are ready to keep going.
Back? Great. It's true. Instead of (in addition to?) the usual nightmare descent into booze and pills of the former child star, Culkin has directed his creative energies in a direction that's a little more unexpected. It could be worse. Ziggy Chow Meindust and the Delivery Guys from Mars? Aeroburritosmith? Led Cheeseburger Zepplin?
The Pizza Underground, made up of Culkin and several New York City anti-folk musicians, recently released its first music video, which you can watch here. (If, you know, you haven't got any more important things to do today than watch a music video of Macaulay Culkin's pizza themed Velvet Underground tribute band. We're not judging, we're just saying.) Their songs include "All the Pizza Parties," "I'm Waiting for the Delivery Man," and "Take a Bite of the Wild Slice" (which, of course, is a Lou Reed solo song, thereby rendering the whole concept faintly ridiculous).
