Holy Ghost! and Passion Pit to Headline SFMOMA's Modern Ball

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art may be deconstructed, as work continues on the remodel of the museum's building on 3rd Street. But that doesn't mean that the museum still doesn't have a presence in the city's art world—or still know how to throw a party. Here's proof.

The museum announced today that Brooklyn synthpop duo Holy Ghost! and indietronica band Passion Pit would be headlining its Modern Ball on April 30th. The Modern Ball is the museum's biennial fundraising gala, which will take place this year at the Yerba Buena Gardens (though we bet that patrons would pay double for tickets if they could party in the construction site.) The gala, which is being designed by Stanlee Gatti, raises funds for the museum's exhibitions and education programs, which serve over 60,000 students, families, and teachers a year. The event includes a Gala Dinner, Supper Club, and late night Post-Modern Party.

Holy Ghost! is a synthpop duo from New York City that blends electronica, hip-hop, and Italian disco. Their latest album, Dynamics, was released in September. That same month, Passion Pit, which took its name from Variety slang for drive-in theaters, released its EP Constant Conversations.
