Did you feel that? For a hot second, water was actually falling—from the sky—onto the Bay Area. It's gone now, but it could be back after lunch.
Scientists call this phenomenon "rain," and it's apparently well-known in other parts of the world, where water routinely drops from the clouds. (Clouds are like fog, but high up in the air.) Turns out if you get enough rain, you don't actually have to steal your water from Yosemite. Crazy! We know!
Light rainfall is expected through Wednesday morning, with the bulk falling in the North Bay and up through Tahoe. Storms may return Friday and Saturday as well. The amount of rainfall is not likely to be enough to affect the drought. But still!
