What’s your background?
On Friday Juneteenth, I completed my first week as CEO of San Francisco General Hospital Foundation with resolve and in solidarity. I am the daughter of a Latin American immigrant who arrived in San Francisco with my family at age 10 speaking only Spanish. My father went on to become a doctor serving the Central California migrant worker, farm and rural communities where I grew up. I am proud to continue his legacy of supporting vulnerable populations, communities of color and immigrants in my own community.

What is your 2020 motto?
Health equity! It takes all of us to keep our community healthy as we have learned throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We are only as healthy as our most vulnerable neighbors and community members.

What does the world need more of now?
Courageous, compassionate and fact-based leadership!
