In August of 1998, an album dropped that would inspire not just the world of hip-hop and R&B, but the minds of women and artists the world over forevermore. It was called The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and its 14 main songs and two hidden tracks told a powerful story of love, frustration, honor and truth in a range of styles and with so much authenticity, it broke the mold.
The one and only solo album from Lauryn Hill was nominated for 10 Grammys and took home five, making her the most decorated female artist in one night thus far. It also propelled the talent to international stardom, but of course, she was no stranger to the spotlight, having been a founding member of the celebrated and iconic hip-hop trio, Fugees.

Now, as The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill celebrates 25 years of influence, Hill is coming to the Chase Center stage to perform the album with a special follow-up set from the Fugees for what promises to be a monumental evening of music and history-making fun.
The show comes this Friday, Nov. 17, and tickets are on sale now. Below, we’ve got a helpful guide with all the info you need to know before you go.
First of all, whether you’re using rideshare to get to the venue or driving yourself, we highly recommend buffering your travel time with an extra half hour or so to account for heightened traffic in the area. Then go ahead and add another 15 minutes to handle your parking your own car.
The Chase Center offers space to pre-paid parking pass holders at two distinct garages: the Mercedes-Benz Garage, accessible from 390 16th St. and 99 Warriors Way; and the Warriors Way Garage, accessible at 150 Warriors Way. Both garages are set to open at 5 p.m. the day of the concerts, and both garages close at midnight. You can learn even more about how to reach these garages at chasecenter.com/parking.
If you didn’t nab a limited parking pass in time, there are third-party operated garages recommended by the Chase Center at 1800 Owens St., and the corner of 19th Street and Illinois Street. When there are no events at Oracle Park, the Chase Center also recommends parking at Lot A at 74 Mission Rock St.
Yes, we’re sure you have the cutest purse picked out for this highly-fashionable show, but if your bag is any larger than 14” long and 6” wide, it’s going to have to be checked at the bag valet on Terry A Francois Blvd for a $10 fee. Backpacks are never allowed, although smaller fashion backpacks and diaper bags that look like backpacks can get a pass if they meet the 14” x 6” requirement. All bags will be searched and screened.
First of all, get your tickets for Friday’s Ms. Lauryn Hill and Fugees concert at the Chase Center here. Now that that’s out of the way:
Printed tickets are a thing of the past at the Chase Center, because the venue has gone completely contactless—at least for entry. Make sure your mobile ticket is ready to be scanned once you get to security, either on your TicketMaster app or the Warriors + Chase Center Mobile App.
It’s always a good idea to download and access your ticket page before leaving the house, in case of a lowered cell signal due to crowds or lack of on-site WiFi. However, please be advised that screenshots of digital tickets don’t always work. Be sure to read the fine print of your mobile ticket.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with music scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Lauryn Hill performs cuts from her Grammy-winning solo album to start up the night, and she’s joined by Wyclef Jean and Pras in the latter part of the evening to perform a few choice cuts of Fugees favorites.
Do not miss a moment of music, and be sure to arrive with plenty of time to get situated and comfortable in your seat, with whatever snacks and beverages you may require.
Unlike many album anniversary tours, this is not a play-by-play of the album. Ms. Hill is giving you twelve cuts off the album in an order that will entertain and energize the audience, including her massive hits “Ex-Factor," “Doo Wop (That Thing),” and her cover of Frankie Valli’s "Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.” Her Fugees compadres hit the stage for a special performance of “Ready Or Not” and "Fe-Gee-La,” so get ready to go crazy.
