Finishing up a whirlwind tour, Broadway smash-hit Mamma Mia! stars Kaye Tuckerman, who plays Donna Sheridan, and Chloe Tucker, portraying her daughter Sophie, are “absolutely pumped for San Francisco,” says Tuckerman. “We’ve come off the back of nine cities in three weeks [and are] exhausted. San Francisco is like the light at the end of the tunnel and more.”
Tucker and some of the cast have been unabashedly enjoying all the touristy stuff—browsing Pier 41 and spooning clam chowder out of sourdough bowls—as well as riding bikes on the Golden Gate Bridge (hot tip: wear earplugs).
San Francisco’s beauty reminds Tuckerman, who was born in Australia, of Sydney. “You feel the energy here,” she says. Along with checking out our restaurants and nightlife with the cast, she says, “I’m desperate to do Alcatraz, I want to see the sea lions.”
Mamma Mia! will be showing at the San Francisco Orpheum until March 4. 1192 Market St., 888-746-1799. Get tickets.
