"HeART of Market" Outdoor Dance Festival 2013
What: Dozens of dance performances including styles such as Bollywood, Jazz, and Fusion

When: Saturday, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Why: Because there sure as hell won't be any dance of this quality at Hardly Strictly.
SPCA 145th Anniversary Carnival Block Party
What: Huge party celebrating pets and the SPCA's 145th birthday.

Cost: Free
Why: Because Wilco already adopted Billy Bragg, you might as well get a dog instead of an English punk.
2013 Castro Street Fair
What: One of the biggest and most fabulous costume parties ever.
Where: Castro and Markey
When: Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Cost: Free
Why: Because the vivid costumes will be a welcome contrast to the mellow good times at Golden Gate Park.
