An ambitious team of beauty industry vets join forces on a high-quality professional line that's sustainable and chic.
What do you get when you bring four accomplished beauty insiders—all wanting to make the world a better place—together? For the co-founders of MOB Beauty, which launched earlier this year, the answer comes courtesy of their line, a collection of clean, cruelty-free and vegan pro-quality formulas designed with refillable packaging made from postconsumer recycled materials.
“I truly believe we can both make great makeup and have an impact on the greater industry by offering a sustainable way to buy and engage with beauty,” says MOB co-founder and CEO Victor Casale. “You don’t have to compromise to have conscious, clean and vegan formulations and Earth-friendly packaging.”
Formerly chief chemist and partner at MAC Cosmetics and the inventor of cult favorite Studio Fix, Casale—who has created a satellite lab in his San Francisco home—and his partners (Alisha Gallagher, Béatrice Séguin and Steve Blanchet) made sure the line’s shades were inclusive to all skin tones, something that he’s made a priority for the past 35 years. So anyone, regardless of race, can dive into the range of lipsticks, eye shadows, bronzers and more with confidence.
As well, the products are highly pigmented—not an easy feat. “We do not shy away from pigment load and rigorously test for qualities like payoff and long wear,” he says. “We are pushing the boundaries to achieve this since we leave out many ingredients that may have a negative impact on the planet, health or animals.”
