Saturday July 17th was a highly-awaited day that took more than two decades to finally arrive, and it proved to be truly worth the wait. At the top of that morning immediately saw several flocking to our city's northermost span for the grand unveiling of our newest Presidio Tunnel Tops park, which spans a bucolic and panoramic whole 14 acres.

This exciting premiere comes in conjunction of two other recently initiated green spaces- Russian Hill's Francisco Park and Tunnel Tops' neighboring Battery Bluffs Park, all of which succeeded the mission of revitalizling previously unusable and dormant, but perfectly scenic, public areas. Presidio Tunnel Tops perches above the highways that lead towards the Golden Gate Bridge, inheriting its magnificent view, along with the open bay and a clear path out to Crissy Field.

With Karl the Fog off in the distance, Saturday was bright and sunny, welcoming a great number of local residents to witness this historic induction, ceremoniously lead by own Nancy Pelosi.

“Today is a day of joy and celebration for all San Franciscans, as our city prepares to open a majestic new public space,” the House Speaker announced to the fervent crowd as she lead the ribbon-cutting with the Presidio Trust CEO Jean Fraser. Fraser was thoroughly thrilled that the park's landscape will now benefit its visitors with areas for "reflection, and especially for play."

As the park was joyously introduced, many then scattered to explore all of its sweeping 14 acres. Highlights of this new city favorite include the gathering campfire circle, a nearby educational interactive children's learning center, a natural wooden two-acre play area, and art programs and exhibitions.

Definitely take some effortlessly gorgeous photos here at 210 Lincoln Boulevard and bring a blanket for lounging with friends and see their delicious offerings of food trucks for the perfect picnic. The park is open daily with food trucks also available every day between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Overall, after over 20 years of unexpected pandemic delays, meticulous planning, and tireless agricultural efforts, Presidio Tunnel Tops park is now an instant city favorite. Saturday was the optimal moment for its premiere, with its community rejoicing in both the return of the brilliant summer and the persistant devotion to encouraging and restoring more city nature.
