From steaks to slices, here are our must-try new restaurants this month.

IZZY’S STEAK + CHOPS
In October 2023, Izzy’s Steak + Chops closed for a significant renovation. Now, the beloved Marina steakhouse is back and better than ever. A mural adorns the walls, and the upstairs dining room is luxurious and sophisticated. “I’m inspired and humbled by chef Daniel Lucero’s passion to elevate many of our classic dishes,” says founder Sam DuVall’s daughter, Samantha DuVall Bechtel. “The steak au poivre has never been more craveable. The chef has added ingredients and refined cooking techniques to create a new level of umami.” 3345 Steiner St., 415.563.0487, izzyssanfrancisco.com

SPLASH
Splash at Thrive City is a vast new sports bar adjacent to Chase Center. “We’ve created a space where you can feel the thrill of the game alongside fellow fans,” says partner Andy Chun. Over 75 televisions fill the 30,000-square-foot restaurant that boasts three bars. The menu has something for every taste bud, from queso and tortilla chips to sushi rolls to pepperoni pizza. Bar star Kevin Diedrich is behind the drinks, including classics and new concoctions like Night Night, a blend of bourbon, rye and cognac. 191 Warriors Way, Ste. 102, 415.404.3190, splashsportsbar.com

MESKI
Polk Street has a new nightlife destination in Meski, from a star-studded team that includes restauranteur Guma Fassil, chef Nelson German and basketballer Draymond Green. “This city has always been about culture, diversity and community, but the Black culture that once thrived is fading,” says Green. “Meski is bringing that energy back. Guma and I have talked about doing something like this for years, and when we linked up with chef Nelson, we knew we had something special.” Expect a fusion of Ethiopian and Dominican flavors, a bar-forward experience, great drinks and live music. 1000 Larkin St., instagram.com/meski.sf

FLOUR + WATER PIZZA SHOP
Mission Rock is ready to start the pizza party with Flour + Water Pizza Shop. “Our vision for the pizza shop is to bring our pizza and hospitality-driven approach to new neighborhoods where we can make a positive impact,” says Thomas McNaughton, co-founder and co-chef. Diners will devour the shop’s signature 13-inch pizzas that range from cacio e pepe to pepperoni, a rotating big slice square, Calabrian chicken wings and classic salads. 1090 Dr. Maya Angelou Lane, Ste. BAR MARITIME
Kampachi crudo, tuna tostadas and martinis are on the menu at Bar Maritime. “I’m excited about being able to operate in such a historic space and bring together industry veterans to refocus on the best parts of what a restaurant can be: a third space where we can leave life’s burdens at the door and enjoy the local community and hospitality professionals who love what they do,” says chef Felix Santos. He’ll use the best locally sourced seafood and seasonal produce at Maritime Boat Club, the bar’s adjacent restaurant opening later this spring. 417 Stockton St., Second Floor, eatmaritime.com
