STARLITE

“Nothing is better than an amazing lounge with cozy seating and great cocktails paired with tasty food,” says Lisa Marchese, the chief commercial officer of the Northview Hotel Group. We couldn’t agree more with Marchese, who is talking about Starlite, the new bar on top of the Beacon Grand Hotel. It’s a rebirth of Harry Denton’s Starlight Room, located on the 21st floor of the hotel, with stunning views of Union Square, the Bay and beyond. With food by chef Johnny Spero, drinks by Scott Baird, interiors by Alice Crumeyrolle and all-vinyl live DJ sets curated by Nina Tarr, Starlite is the hottest opening of 2024 thus far. 450 Powell St., @starlitesf

LEFT DOOR

“This neighborhood and the surrounding neighborhoods needed a place like this,” says Joe Wallace. He’s talking about his new cocktail lounge, Left Door. The sophisticated and upscale watering hole is above The Bus Stop on Union Street. Cow Hollow residents will concur as no other space like Left Door exists. It feels more like a well-appointed Pacific Heights home than a traditional bar. The drink menu consists of classics—order a martini, margarita or Manhattan—and chef Paul Toxqui serves luxe small bites. Think “boujee totchos,” wagyu carpaccio and caviar bumps. 1905 Union St., 415.295.2042, leftdoorsf.com

MILLER & LUX PROVISIONS

Celebrity chef Tyler Florence is on a mission to invigorate downtown. He’s recently taken over the two cafes in Union Square and opened Miller & Lux Provisions. At the patisserie on Powell, Florence and pastry chef Karla Marro serve decadent desserts, muffins, pastries and a croissant cone filled with soft-serve ice cream. The rotisserie on Stockton has brunch and lunch items—saffron couscous, croque madame, roast chicken and more. Florence says he’s trying to “bring life back into downtown. It was so needed in the square in particular, and it’s such a joy to see more excitement in this historic space.” 225 Stockton St., 415.548.2073, millerandluxrestaurant.com

7 ADAMS

Fans of husband-and-wife chef duo David Fisher and Serena Chow Fisher, formerly of Marlena, will be happy that the couple has opened a new restaurant in the Fillmore. At 7 Adams, diners should expect the unexpected in a new tasting menu that includes family-style dishes and others set or chosen. The chefs hope you’ll return to 7 Adams over and over because they love “celebrating milestones with guests, staff, friends and family,” David says. “We get to be a part of people’s happiest times and see them grow over time. Additionally, we earn our guests’ trust by having a creative outlet where we can do anything we want. It’s immensely rewarding.” 1963 Sutter St., 415.655.9154, 7adamsrestaurant.com
