It was a night coruscating in lilac purple and glittery Y2K butterfly clips, as the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium filled up with a completely full house to see teen singer-songwriter sensation Olivia Rodrigo last Friday May 27th.
As her last North American stop before a 15-stop journey through Europe, her packed San Francisco audience made sure to leave the 19 year old pop icon with an unforgettable impression of the city, just as she provided them a one-of-a-kind showstopping performance.

With nearby City Hall joining the occasion illuminated in pastels to grandly welcome Olivia, spectators in droves of all ages gleefully lined up outside Bill Graham all decked out in fashion reminiscent to her 2021 album "Sour."
With Sour's 11 personally-written masterpieces including instant viral hits, "Drivers License," "Deja Vu," and "Good 4 U," Olivia effortlessly broke through to the top of the pop scene from her pop-punk tracks and emotional ballads describing her relatable break up.
At exactly 9:10 p.m. sharp, her sold-out house's built-up anticipation was finally satiated, with Olivia kicking off an electrigying show with her high-octane rock performance of "Brutal."
Keeping up the energetic hype, she engaged the entire crowd by bouncing across the stage left and right while then transitioning to her other massively catchy and cathartic, "Jealousy, Jealousy."
"What's up, San Francisco!" She belted after the two opening songs. With the audience fully warmed up, she welcomed our city by addressing how impressed she was with us as her last North American stop.
After sitting down in front of her piano to gracefully sing popular hit "Drivers License" while bathed in a sea of iPhone lights in support, she sprang back to solidify, "I really did save the best for last!"
With that, the crowd was both enamored and fully primed for an impeccable rest of her show.
Precisely controling the crowd's emotions from excited to vulnerably emotional, she began to move into her more evocative ballads off her breakout album of "Hope ur ok" and "1 step forward, 3 steps back," explaining the thoughtful background behind their inspirations.
"This one goes out to anyone who made them feel like they're not good enough," Rodrigo passionately dedicated, with her crowd supportively rejoicing.
Other San Francisco-unique moments of her incredible show included putting a personal sticker on stage to commemorate her visit, as well as stopping midway through singing "Traitor" to help ensure members in her crowd were alright and received proper assistance.
The magic didn't just stop there though, as she also gave immaculate cover renditions of classic female rock-angst ballads "Complicated" by Avril Lavigne, and "Just a Girl" by Gwen Stefani's No Doubt.
After also kindly giving recognition to her truly talented band, she had a quick wardrobe change into a prom-worthy shimmery dress to close out the show with "Deja Vu" and of course, the long-awaited "Good 4 u," complete with a large disco ball shining on all of her adoring fans.
Going out in a full purple bang, lilac confetti rained down across the overjoyed room immediately after Olivia lovingly concluded with, "we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, San Francisco."
Olivia Rodrigo is a pop trailblazer, and as she continues to dazzle across Europe, we can guarantee that, as "the best for last," we left her with an undeniably inimitable San Francisco experience.
