The Wachowskis, seen here explaining how the ending of the Matrix movies makes sense as long as Neo had wifi installed in his brain.
If your Pride weekend seems a little extra science fictional this year, there's a good explanation. Blame the sci fi show currently filming in town. And now we know a little more about what to expect when Sense8 hits your laptop in 2015. Cast and plot details for the show, which the Wachowski siblings—of Matrix and Cloud Atlas fame—are currently filming in San Francisco, have been revealed.
J. Michael Straczynski, the creator of Babylon 5, who is working on the show, told Deadline, "The series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally. They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill, or vivisect them."
In addition to San Francisco, the show will film on nine locations across four continents. The cast includes Naveen Andrews from Lost, Daryl Hannah, and Freema Agyeman from Doctor Who. Though the ten-episode show was originally scheduled to begin running on Netflix later this year, it has been pushed back to 2015.
The filming, which staged a motorcycle rally on 18th Street complete with the rainbow-haired appearance of Lana Wachowski, will reportedly be continuing during this weekend's Pride events.
