50+ acts, four gigantic stages, and two long days- that is what the first-ever Portola Festival immaculately delivered on September 24 and 25, showcasing a a strong start right on San Francisco's historic Pier 80.
From Charli XCX's massive turnout, to Palace's heartfelt end to a triumphant tour, here are a few of the best moments from the sunny seaside extravaganza.

Perhaps one of the most notorious moments from Day 1 was the overwhelming rush of fans storming into the warehouse to view Charli XCX. It was a thrilling spectacle that not only brought about better barricading the following day, but also a clear message that the Charli stans were dedicated.

Known for their entrancing 90's house, the Chemical Brothers took to the main Pier Stage to provide a long-awaited return and only further solidified their status as one of the most iconic electronica legends.

Similarly, the return of Fatboy Slim summoned a hoard of his most devoted fans both new and old to an absolutely brimming Ship Tent, all to hear him play "Praise You" and more.

Now here's something you won't find at every festival! Aside from this festive chicken, many other vibrant signs, statues, and sites were provided for attendees to have mini photoshoots on. A common theme between them all that highlighted everyone's shimmery Y2K and rave fits? Disco balls!

Jamie XX precisely kept his packed warehouse crowd enthralled and on their toes with his skillful transitions between deep thumping beats and masterful remixes.

Identified by their trumpet swells and groovy orchestral ensembles, Jungle's beachy hits could be heard reverberating well past the Pier Stage, which only added to the tropical getaway ambience of the pier.

The highlights aren't limited to the music, either! Several food stands were in attendance, as well as cocktail stations, one being the Carribbean's rich Zaya Rum. This delightful oasis offered a tropical Dark and Stormy and a Rum Punch, making for the perfect refreshment between breathtaking sets.
Overall the Portola Festival gave an impeccable start to a fabulous run that will surely drive more and more participants towards the Dogpatch's southern pier during our sunny Septembers, and we can't wait to see who heads the lineup next year!
