Today's times have truly tested and exemplified our perseverance and ingenuity to overcome and adapt to unforeseen contemporary challenges. The implementation of technology has allowed us to not relinquish the quality of our activities and lifestyles just because of this adversity, especially when it comes to everyday fitness.

Supernatural, an innovative VR fitness service on Meta Quest, is creatively reimagining the traditional ways we achieve our fitness, allowing their premier tech to strengthen not only workouts, but also inclusive online community connections and overall holistic enjoyment. From specialized Boxing and Flow Cardio workouts, to mindful meditation, Supernatural thoughtfully integrates technological advancements of immersive destination settings with energetic and approachable coaching sessionS to forge exercises that are cutting-edge and modernly more engaging, both in and out of the headset.

With stellar supportive testimonies from Elliot Page, Tiffany Haddish, the New York Times and more, to further elucidate the life-changing impacts this must-try platform encourages (both for the coaches and their devoted community), we had a chance to chat with one of Supernatural's highly-acclaimed coaches, Raneir Pollard.

Hi Raneir! Thank you so much for taking the time to talk, I am truly thrilled to discover your journey with Supernatural. Let's begin with a little bit about you!

I am a fitness coach, comedian and Guinness world record holder for most burpees in a minute wearing stilettos. After graduating from the University of Miami with a Broadcast Journalism degree (minoring in exercise science and political science), I moved to LA and have lived here ever since.

I like to say whether I’m on stage at a comedy club or in a fitness studio, my goal is probably to make your cheeks hurt. I have a strong commitment to preaching gratitude when it comes to the time we take out to exercise. I think a lot of people have a negative relationship with fitness because they approach it from a position of shame. I hope to help undo that mindset and replace it with one of love/ self care.

That is genuinely so inspiring to hear. And so how did you come to Supernatural?

I was inspired to join Supernatural because the moment I was able to experience it, I knew it was a tool that would get so many people to enjoy movement. It's important to me that people see exercise as a moment to escape and have fun. In Supernatural, we’re escaping to breathtaking landscapes all over the world, and sweating to some irresistible music! Add to that our engaging, unique and challenging movement patterns and it's easy to see why the enjoyability factor is off the charts!

Since I’ve started at Supernatural, I’ve received so many messages from our community that said something to the effect of how this was the first time in their life, that they’re waking up excited to get a workout in. I feel blessed to be a part of it all!

Not to mention, it's incredibly exciting to be on the cutting edge of something I once only believed to be the stuff of sci fi movies: Virtual Reality!

Yes, the futurism and versatility of Supernatural's vision and style of fitness is exceptionally essential. What is it that you love about their approach, especially in today's atmosphere?

I love the accessibility factor of it all. Being able to get a workout within your own walls whenever the mood strikes is so important for a lot of reasons. It not only accommodates a busy schedule, but it also leaves less deterrents between someone deciding they want a workout, and someone actually jumping into a workout.

And as opposed to other home workouts, virtual reality allows you to feel like you are outside your own four walls, and getting a workout in what could be a much needed change of scenery.

What have been some of your favorite memories being on the Supernatural team?

Releasing our boxing format on Supernatural was definitely a special moment for us all. We worked so hard as a team from conception to our first boxing debut and I felt us shift even closer as a family that day. I’ve definitely held that memory close. My two favorite memories tho would have to be getting the opportunity to work with Tiffany Haddish and Shea Coulee!!

Yes, I would love to hear all about that! How was working with these two celebrity icons?

It's hard to describe the joy that surged through my body getting to work with these two great talents. It's easy for me to group them together because they both were insanely professional, fun to watch, a pleasure to work with and overall they both brought an electric energy to the set that the entire team was able to feed off of.

What do you think they enjoyed the most from their experience?

It's hard for me to answer what moment they enjoyed the most, but I can say how awesome it was watching them coach their workouts and spread their energy and message to our community. They’re both such natural performers so it definitely felt like a moment getting a front row seat to them in action!

It seems like working with them was truly a pivotal and empowering moment for you, not only as a coach but in other proud aspects of your life-

I have a couple particular moments that I'll likely be talking about til the day I speak no longer. One was getting to interview Shea Coulee on the Supernatural IG Live about her experience filming with Supernatural and then a deeper conversation on all things queer. Not only did I feel like I was having the ultimate Drag Race fan experience, but it also lived up to all my fanboy daydreams!! I was also proud that we covered important issues regarding the lgbtqia+ community in a way that was illuminating and relatable.

As a comedian, getting to work and collaborate behind the scenes with Tiffany Haddish is enough of a milestone moment. So imagine my excitement finding out we’d be filming a stretch together that would live forever in our Supernatural library! One of my comedy mentors filming alongside me is a memory that lights my spirit on fire!! I couldn’t be happier with how these experiences turned out and the content they produced!
