Robin Williams's Daughter Makes Inspiring Return to Social Media

Scott Lucas | September 2, 2014 | Lifestyle Story City Life

The last few days online have not been kind to young women, so it's good to have some good news. Try this: Zelda Williams, 25, the daughter of Robin Williams, is returning to social media.

The younger Williams had been the subject of online harassment. After Robin Williams committed suicide earlier in August, several Twitter users sent her faked pictures of what claimed to be her father's body, forcing Zelda Williams off of social media.

Today, she's back. On Twitter, she wrote the message "Thank you," and linked to a longer post on her Tumblr account, where she quoted Harvey Fierstein. "Never be bullied into silence," read the message. "Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself."
