Can you imagine anything more awe-inspiring than watching a live symphony in a grand and historic church while bathed in the cascading warm glow of intimate candlelights?
Happening at St. Ignatius Church on Thursday April 28st is “Candlelight,” an exclusive event hosted by Fever that features talented musicians in the most unique architectural venues all over the world.
Rotating around San Francisco’s most notable venues, University of San Francisco’s breathtaking St. Ignatius Church is the next chosen location coming up to be filled with not only several flickering candles accompanying the experience, but also the incredible sounds of the live string quartet performing classical pieces by Vivaldi and more.
Initially launched in Madrid in July of 2019, then expanded into Los Angeles later that year in October, Fever’s Candlelight experience has since become a globally renowned and highly sought-after spectacle. With events hosted in over 50 countries worldwide, and over 20 cities nationally, San Francisco leads as one of the top locations thanks to our city’s many magnificent musicians and architectural structures.
St. Ignatius Church is located atop University of San Francisco’s hilltop campus on 650 Parker Ave, and has been an impressively long standing beacon in the city’s skyline since 1855. After many rebuilds from the San Francisco earthquake, fire, and World War I, the stunning church now remains as a civic landmark to Jesuits, students, and tourists alike.
Upon entering, the massive intricately detailed and ornate features of the glorious atmosphere make it clear why holding an intimate concert series feels so natural here.
Fever’s Candlelight is a trusted collaboration with each location’s talented composers and symphonies. For the 28th’s event, also happening May 10th, Music Production Studio Unicorn Breeding Ground will provide the ambient performance.
A selection of of Vivaldi is set for the program, including the famous four seasons of “Spring,” “Summer,” “Autumn,” and “Fall” in G minor. A few others include “Oblivion” by Astor Piazzolla, “The Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas: Verano Porteño” by Astor Piazzolla and Arr. Keith Lawrence, and “The Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Saint-Saëns and Arr. Lewis Patzner.

Candlelight’s other performances feature more than just classical pieces though, as they utilize diverse musical genres like pop and jazz and translate them into modern symphonic adaptations.
Coldplay tributes and other similar themes are offered, particularly for the city slated set this summer at the San Francisco Mint.
The lovely atmospheric program is about an hour, with doors open 30 minutes prior. Anyone 10 years or older can attend, with those under the age of 16 to be accompanied by an adult.
