A tasty tribute to where both martinis and Junipero Gin were born, the inaugural San Francisco Martini Week (Aug. 1-6) is set to take the city by storm.
The birthplace of the martini, San Francisco is no stranger to the boozy beverage. The city’s inaugural Martini Week is designed to celebrate the iconic sip, as well as SF-based Junipero Gin, from Aug. 1 to 6. Throughout the week, lauded restaurants and bars around the city will serve up their takes on the crafty cocktail—think hot spots like 15 Romolo, Bar Iris, Rye and Wilder, among others. For each martini ordered, a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a local order of queer and transgender nuns devoted to community service and activism.
On Aug. 4, Junipero and The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are hosting a special happy hour at Kona Street Market in the Financial district. Expect an elegant evening of refreshing gin martinis, live music and deliciously light bites. We’ll see you there!
