San Francisco: You only have nine days left to get a fitness hub in Hayes Valley!

Jenna Scatena | November 4, 2013 | Lifestyle Story City Life

Jenn Pattee, owner and head trainer at Basic Training, is on a mission to build a fitness hub and mobile playground in a currently empty parking lot on Hayes and Octavia. The idea, springing off of the beloved Proxy Project, is to provide a space where fitness isn’t at a starchy indoor gym or out in the wilds of the Presidio, but in a central location that’s casual and accessible. And no need to bring your gym bag—some of the equipment, like monkey bars, would really be more about encouraging people to interact and play, than to get sweat-soaked pumping iron--things you can do on your walk to work, after a shot of espresso from nearby Blue Bottle.
