After a much-anticipated wait, the SFMOMA's festive Art Bash returns! Set for a long night of delicious food, exclusive art exhibitions, and live performances from today's prominent musicians, this colorful celebration happening on all of its seven floors definitely makes up for the wait.
All proceeds from gala's ticket sales will directly benefit SFMOMA's many education and community programs, such as their free First Thursdays, school visits and partnerships, and the upcoming summer Mini Mural Festival.
Tonight's jubilations will surely be an unforgettable and exciting night for the city's art scene, and with all the events packed tonight, we've got you covered on all what to look forward to.
Kicking off the vibrantly mighty schedule are all the artist presentations of their galleries. There will be Michael Jang with his "Black + White Box" at 8 p.m. on the fourth floor, "The Palms" by Alec Soth + Dave King in the first floor's Phyllis Wattis Theater, and graphic art activations by the San Ferncisco Studio sporadically set around the museum at surprise locations.
There will also be a live painting of a derby car from 8:30-11:30 p.m. by contemporary street artists DJ Agana and Vogue on the 5th floor's rooftop pavillion for the upcoming sopbox derby April 10th.
There will also be a live art auction alongside with dinner, selling works by Jeff Koons, William Kentridge, Julie Mehretu, and more.
Dinner tickets range from $3,000–$30,000 per guest, and a tax-deductible contribution of $800–$9,800 is available per ticket. Cocktails and other food will continue to be served until 1 a.m., making it perfect to pair with the tremendously talented musical acts slated throughout the evening into the late after party.
DJ $picy will be performing his upbeat set on the rooftop pavillion from 8–10 p.m., followed by a thrilling DJ battle on the same stage between award-winning Bay Area DJ Miles Medina, and RCADE.
Hop down to the first floor's Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Atrium at 10:30 p.m. to catch the brilliantly punk all-female group The Linda Lindas.
Fresh off their new album "Growing Up," the extremely skilled band is sure to deliver a rocking performance, especially with their exclusively special secret guest.
Happening on the SFMOMA's second floor Helen and Charles Schwab Hall from 11:15 p.m.–12:30 a.m. is also the equally melodic performance of musician Nite Jewel. Originally from Los Angeles, her soulful songs are sure to reverberate moving rhythms throughout the creative space.
With tickets at $250 per guests 21 and older, from numerous artist galleries, dinner options, and captivating musical sets, the night will be as vibrant as the museum itself. But it doesn't just end there, as there is also a highly-coveted late night party starting at 10 p.m. for $95.
Art Bash happens tonight, Friday, April 8, 2022 from 6 p.m. all the way unti 1 a.m. See more information on their main website.
