As the weather warm ups and the sun begins to persevere past Karl the Fog, aside from the beach, one of the best ways to soak up the bright rays is at a pool. Specifically at The Phoenix Hotel on 601 Eddy Street near Civic Center, their poolside concert parties are one of the most coveted music festivals to attend on a radiant summer day in the city.
Kicking off on May 8th with talented artist DJ Seinfeld, all throughout the summer into August, the months' next few weekends are set to have different distinguished and revered musicians hyping up the poolside.
A few names on the electrifying, can't-miss roster include SNBRN (on 5/15), TOKiMONSTA (6/12), Shiba San (7/3), Chris Lorenzo (7/10), Sam Feldt (8/14), and much more.
With amazingly close proximity to the numerous entertainment venues around Civic Center and the Tenderloin like the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium and The Great American Music Hall, The Phoenix Hotel definitely contributes to the scene with their vibrant classic "rock n' roll" aesthetic.
Since 1956, the hotel has become historically reputable as the choice spot for many big touring artists and traveling musicians, establishing their legend status along with their consistently distinct 1950's-motor Americana style.
Aside from all the rest, a notable anecdote includes Neil Young residing here while recording the album "Deja Vu" with Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Also Debbie Harry and JFK Jr. were once comedically checked into the same room accidentally, and even Kurt Cobain was known to cycle through here as he appreciated the Phoenix's stationary.
With musical spirit running throughout the whole complex, it makes perfect sense why their summer poolside concerts have become such a hit, as crowds gather to relax and hear the impressive musical performances reverberate across their storied walls.
Not only can you party and stay like a superstar, but also dine as one at their artisanal Chambers restaurant. Their Chef Anthony Tadeo handcrafts exquisite seasonal tasting menus, as well as unique cocktails and a glamorous weekend brunch.
In collaboration with professional performance organizer 15utah, The Phoenix Hotel's summer lineup will be known as "Summertime Radness," and the name definitely fits. Starting in the afternoons, nothing beats lounging poolside all day and soaking in the warm rays while imbibing and listening to fantastically creative musical sets into the long summer city nights. See the following performers below slated to give energizing and phenomenally enthralling performances.
Grammy nominated TOKiMONSTA will be performing poolside on June 12th.
Goldroom this July 23rd.
SNBRN coming up shortly on May 15th.
