Iconic Highlights From SF's Drizzly, But Dazzling SantaCon 2022

SantaCon this year was, in one word, wet. While rain did consistently greet the city all weekend, its appearance certainly did not deter locals excited to participate in San Francisco's longstanding holiday tradition of SantaCon. Since 1994, this storied celebration is a long-awaited December festivity that vivid fills many of San Francisco's hotspots of Union Square, the Marina, and more with a sea of bright red Santa-dressed partiers.

Despite all of the drizzle, Union Square meet ups and community pub crawls still relentlessly carried on, signifying that a little wet weather wouldn't damped the costumed spirit or break the tradition. Everyone's convivial commitment truly made this uniquely stormy SantaCon another heartwarming and triumphant one for the history books, and here are some of the most notable moments and costumes that we don't want to forget!

While many Santas were out and about, this charming Grinch was seen making the day brighter with his delightful costume in Union Square. Let's hope his heart grew three sizes from the festivities!

This glamorous group took their party mobile on a bus, waving gleefully to their supportive and merry spectators.

Pets were definitely not excluded from the costuming fun, such as this posh, MET Gala-ready pooch!

Pacific Cocktail Haven is a tremendously popular choice for dazzling holiday lights and delicious spiced cocktails, which this radiant group were ready to indulge in!

The rainy weather sure didn't stop this iconic friend group prepared with colorful umbrellas, boots, and even cute holiday lights !

Whether it's the merriment of SantaCon, or just the overall magic of Christmas in San Francisco, there's definitely plenty to radiantly smile about!

Sleigh or slay? This beautiful friend group seen at Union Square's whimsical Winter Wanderland fits both flawlessly.

This stunning friend group puts the "jolly" in "Holly Jolly Christmas" with their dazzling smiles and unique sweaters that are as warm as they are festive.

The creative costumes weren't just limited to bright red Santas, evident in this pod of fabulous reindeers who pulled up for a tropical time at Del Mar.

We can't wait to see what inventive costumes some out of next year's at this incredibly captivating city tradition!
