Just when you think we have everything there is to brag about the Bay Area, we have one more winning collegiate aspect to boast, and that is our own Stanford University ranking as 2nd within Niche's Best Colleges in America 2023.
Out of the 4,000+ higher education institutions to be sorted, Stanford University came out on top above Harvard, Princeton, and Yale in the top 5, coming just second to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The Bay Area college triumphs of this year also only begin there.

The Palo Alto university also remarkably comes in first within the SF Bay Area's Best Value Colleges of 2023, and is joined by our two other local colleges of UC Berkeley and Santa Clara University. It should come as no surprise how our own universities reigned above all, as the quality level of education, cost-effectiveness, post-grad employment rate, and overall student experience are all truly unparalleled.

Niche's site describes Stanford as "elite private university" with "an enrollment of 5,752 undergraduate students" in which "alumni go on to earn a starting salary of $70,400.” Similarly for UC Berkeley, Niche elucidates that this highly competitive public university has "an enrollment of 29,300 undergraduate students" where "alumni go on to earn a starting salary of $48,700.”

Niche's results were established through a methodology of combining data from educational, safety, cost, athletics, and other aspects of the colleges themselves, the U.S. Department of Education, and its own audience of alumni, endless student reviews, and more.
This year integrated on a new "value" addition into the formula with an evaluation of each institution's Return On Investment.

Both of these prestigious Bay Area institutions share similar student amenities, experiences, and accalaimed courses, with the two having a long-standing traditional rivalry that stems from the 1890s and culminates in the highly-popular and intense Big Game football match.
