If we saw it in a piece of fiction, we would have said the symbolism was a little too on the nose. Less than a week after the city's pilot program to regulate private shuttles ferrying commuters to jobs in the tech industries, a giant bus bottomed out this morning on a hill in Noe Valley, blocking the tracks of the J-Church Muni line.
Ed Lee, call your office.
According to Muni, the bus ground to a halt on the lines of the J train at 21st Street. Muni lines behind it are being turned back at 21st and Church, and Muni has deployed its own shuttles to ferry commuters around the obstruction. As of a few minutes ago, Muni announced that the delay was "clearing"—although commuters should expect continued delays along the line.
Please feel free to draw your conclusions.
