Three celebrity chefs who will cook at your next dinner party

If you love to entertain but hate to cook, or you’d just like to rub elbows with a Bay Area celebrity chef, check out the startup Kitchit. Sign up online and select one of the site’s professional chefs to create, shop for, and prepare a customized menu in your home. A Kitchit dinner can cost as little as $30 per head or $200 and above if you hire one of the site’s master chefs, like Saison star Joshua Skenes and Jardinière’s Traci Des Jardins. “In a city where it’s all about dining out, it’s refreshing to have a cozy, playful night at home,” says Leah Goldstein, a senior account manager at Glodow Nead Communications, who hired food consultant and chef James Simpkins to cook an intimate birthday dinner for six at her Russian Hill apartment.
