After a hectic (and often home-bound) year, we’re all looking for a little escape that pleases all the senses. While a faraway vacation might not be in the cards quite yet, local landmark Ghirardelli Square offers a retreat that’s right in our backyard. Here are just a few of the sights, smells, and sounds you can experience when you visit today.

Face the Music—and Dance
Enjoy live music from Bay Area musicians across a variety of genres, from indie soul and Brazilian groove to blues, bluegrass, and Parisian Folk. The serenade starts Memorial Day weekend, with performances from 3-6 pm on Saturday and Sunday. After that, visit for fresh tunes in Fountain Plaza every Friday from 3-6 pm.

Right now, you can experience live music (as well as delicious pub food and craft beer) at San Francisco Brewing Co. from 3-6 pm every Saturday and Sunday.

Spring Into a World of Color
Ghirardelli Square is host to a full spectrum of incredible colors thanks to local artist Leah Rosenberg. “18 Colors For Ghirardelli Square” invites you to experience 18 beautiful hues in the form of hand-painted murals, color-soaked staircases, banners, benches, and signs. Be sure to explore every nook and cranny to experience it all.

Have a Bite and Make a Night
Savor a new taste or revisit a favorite spot. Whether you’re looking for a night out, a quick lunch, or some simple grab-and-go dining, you can explore a world of flavors at Ghirardelli Square. We can’t get enough of the delicious dim sum at Palette Tea House and the out-of-this-world Oolong Milk Tea at Tea Square. Other restaurants are now open for outdoor or indoor dining, pickup, and delivery—all with proper safety protocols in place.
