At the Westfield Centre downtown, visit a special holiday Cirque de Soliel performance in front of Bloomingdale's on Friday at 10am. The mall opens at 5am, as well as select boutiques. Nordstrom, which has garnered the likes from 26,000 Facebook friends for its decision to "celebrate one holiday at a time", will offer new markdowns on Friday with up to 50% off. Bloomingdale's boasts the same discounts, as well as a special sale on designer handbags with 30% at purchase both in-store and online. (Westfield Centre, 865 Market St., between 4th and 5th St.)

Not for the faint of heart, the first 100 people at H&M Friday morning will receive scratch offs with up to $300 to spend in-store. Women's quality knit sweaters and some holiday dresses start at just $5 and men can find pants at as low as $10. (150 Post St., near Ellis St.)

New-kid-in-town Uniqlo slashes prices on cashmere sweaters, select outerwear and men's wool pants. Sale extends online. (111 Powell St., near Ellis St.)

Last but not least is Macy's: the real deal for the full-bodied Black Friday experience. This is how the die hard shoppers get it done. The Union Square location opens at midnight on Friday, so you can head right over after pumpkin pie. The sale ends at 1pm the next day and until then, covers the entire store, featuring discounts of up to 80% off of everything from homewear to clothing and electronics.
